The Boston Celtics had two opportunities during the final five seconds to win their NBA Cup opener against the Atlanta Hawks, but neither Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were able to give Boston the walk-off win. The Celtics didn’t look like themselves while taking on a Hawks team that was missing three of its top players in All-Star Trae Young, as well as De’Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic, as Boston committed a season-high 20 turnovers and allowed Atlanta to grab 20 offensive boards. Those numbers, along with some other miscues, cost the Celtics the win. We’re diving into it all while outlining a couple of positives to take away from the loss.
