Barred Owls Under Jupiter
Listen now
Description
Recorded on October 4, 2024 at the dogtrot on the Moonpie Deck under a bright blanket of stars and barely-there moon in a 1% waxing crescent phase, this is the sound of a bluehour chorus of crickets and katydids with distant hoo-aws of a parliment of Barred Owls calling from the woods in the nearby bottomlands. Autumn is sometimes called "the hooting season" for owl watchers because owls are staking their territories for the upcoming courting season. This is a quiet recording so a quiet listening is recommended. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
