Love your podcasts!
Andrea, Your podcasts are sooo helpful. This one and Espanolistos are the best on the internet! Thank you Andrea and thank you Nate! Just some feedback from a Canadian English speaker: The difference between pero and sino is intuitively better understood as ‘but’ (pero), and ‘but rather’ (sino). Sino can be thought of as ‘instead’ , yet I think a better translation is ‘but rather’ because it still incorporates the word ‘but’. This could be more of a United Kingdom variation on English....maybe ask Nate what he thinks? Also a previous podcast about ‘a pesar de’ means ‘despite’ or ‘in spite of’. Keep in mind that english native speakers never say ‘despite of’ We can say ‘despite’ OR ‘in spite of’ You never say despite with ‘of’ after. And we never say ‘in spite’ without ‘of’ after. Hope this is helpful. Thanks for all you do! John 🐻🤗
