Listen now
Description
Michigan based author and speaker, Karen Ehman, joins us to talk about her books "Keep It Shut: What to Say, How to Say It, and When to Say Nothing at All" and "Zip It: The Keep It Shut 40-Day Challenge".  We discuss her motivations for writing this book, as well as her inspiration for avoiding gossip. Karen provides us with some practical advice through stories on how to handle gossip in a godly way, and some wisdom learned on how to make our words "sweet like honey", rather than damaging and unwholesome.  Scripture: Proverbs 10:19: "Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues." Proverbs 15:4: "The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit." Ephesians 4:29: "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen". Colossians 4:6: "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." Proverbs 16:24: "Kind words are like honey - sweet to the soul, and healthy for the body".    Websites: https://karenehman.com/ www.sparklefaith.com www.lifeaudio.com   Instagram: @karenehman @_sparklefaith_ @lifeaudio   Share your story of faith with us to be featured on an episode of Sparkle Speak: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1I7tr-d5D2RiqvXSR-Jx2mGBwK_W28UgwuphJlUq6ijQ/edit#responses   Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
