Can’t Wait for Next Week
I am addicted to the Speak Up Storytelling podcast. Matthew and Alysha are so easy to listen to and they offer incredible insight into the art and craft of storytelling. I especially love that they air a story by a different amazing story teller each episode and then offer a critique of that story. I find the critiques very useful; they offer insight into what makes the story work and tips for improvement. Because of the constant reminder to do homework for life, I’m really close to making it a habit. It has already helped me unearth a few stories from my past, and Matthew has me convinced that by recording the most story worthy moment from my day I’ll eventually begin to see the ordinary moments of my ordinary life as story worthy. Can’t wait. I also highly recommend Matthew’s book, “Storyworthy”; I devoured the print version and am working through the Audible version. If you like Matthew’s storytelling style you’ll love listening to the book.

Matt, for someone with children I am disappointed that you choose to use vulgarity so much in your storytelling. I have been an avid listener and believe you are truly gifted. However, when I sit down with my children to listen and you feel you need to drop F bombs... I agree that vulgarity...Read full review »
