Surprisingly Brilliant!!
Spines is one of those podcasts you keep on seeing but in the back of your head there’s a voice going “sure, looks fine, probably just another half-done horror podcast, though.” But you could NOT be further from the truth. It’s very well done and easily addictive. You’re taken on a ride with only the information the main character starts with herself. From then on you can start to see a bugger picture. And it’s a very lovely mosaic. Personally, as a botanist and someone born with an exceedingly rare mosaic genetic disorder, Spines really taps into strange niches and my deepest imagination with its science fiction, horrifyingly life-like and believable. Wren Jones has a great voice for the show as well. My ONLY thing is that the first half of season one has some shaky audio recording but it’s easily overlooked as the story is so good and enthralling. Imaginative, chilling, just an overall podcast for horror and sci-fi fans to latch onto.

Horror doesn't really scare me. Poe doesn't scare me, Lovecraft doesn't scare me. Spines scares me. This stuff is great. Well done!Read full review »

Spines tells stories of disturbing mutants, dangerous powers and dissaffected youth that effortlessly distort reality, warp humanity and utterly undermine the illusory stability of the modern world. Also it is fun.

I wasn’t sure what I was getting into the first few episodes..took a few to really get into it. Glad I stuck it out cause it really picks up, and the final episode is a great ending to this creepy, beautiful story.
