That is why, I can certainly tell you that most of the time hispanic students do not comprehend some expressions like FOMO, SOP, ASAP, and other ones that US natives uses on a daily basis, so my humble recommendation is for you to avoid the use of that kind of expressions or at least at the beginning of every chapter take some minutes to explain them if you really need to use that language.
