Feel the fear and do it anyway! Jackie Barcal will inspire you to follow your passion and chase your Sports RD dream! Jackie Barcal is the Head of Nutrition at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. In her role, she leads a team of dietitians who help maximize student-athlete performance by equipping them with the knowledge and resources to fuel themselves now and in the future. In addition working with middle and high schoolers, Jackie works with campers, collegiate & pro athletes as well as corporate groups. Jackie always knew she wanted to make an impact on high school athletes having not been exposed to nutrition information as a teenager. Prior to IMG, Jackie attended the University of Wyoming where she was a Graduate Assistant in athletics while pursuing a masters. Before Wyoming, Jackie was a member of the inaugural Gatorade Sports Nutrition Immersion Program (SNIP) at the University of Alabama in 2013. Jackie was awarded the CPSDA Service Award at the annual conference in 2019 for her contributions and service to the field. A native of California, her passion for sports nutrition emerged during her time competing in Division II softball at California State University, Stanislaus where she earned a bachelor’s in Business Administration Finance. She continued her education at CSU Sacramento earning a second bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and completed her dietetic internship at Fresno State. This episode is sponsored by Momentous.
