“I’ve been listening to the pod for a while but was disappointed by their coverage of the voice campaign. Whilst trying to show ‘both sides’, you gave credit at times to the misinformation being spread by the no campaign. Also refusing to take a stance on the issue seemed like a convenient cop out at a significant point in Australia’s history.
After that I became more aware of right-leaning tendencies, especially after an interview you did with a Greens senator about the housing crisis. Despite statistical evidence given to you about the effectiveness of rent caps, the issue was approached with a lot of scepticism.
These issues are also prevalent when you consider the recent sponsorship deals. Working with Woolies who is currently under investigation for price gouging, UBER and their controversies within the gig economy but even worse BHP and selling copper as a sustainable way forward by a mining company?? The multiple instances of greenwashing are just tiring when we need to be more realistic about the things we’re going to face in the coming years.
It’s a good quick recap in the morning, but 7am and The Full Story by The Guardian offer much better and more in depth news coverage.”
