Description
Mary welcomes back Pastor Chris Quintana today for a discussion of the book of Psalms. Diverse authors, themes and style highlight this wonderful instructional book - which has also comforted many a believer down through the ages. We talk about the structure of the book that has 2461 verses, and the longest book in the bible - Psalm 119 - which is also an acrostic. One of the main authors, David, was a pivotal person in all of history but in the Scriptures, it gets personal with his laments, cries and proclamations that not only drew him closer to God, but it has become a book of hymns and prayers for us all. David's trials have resonated with all believers at one time or another. Whether a Messianic song, a song of Thanksgiving, or a lament, the Psalms is a unique book that spans over 400 years of history and is a never-ending source of inspiration, awe, theology, and history. Pastor Chris' online studies through the Bible are thorough and help equip the church to know God better, and to better understand the times.
