Their fiction has been finalist for the Nebula, Hugo, Locus and Sturgeon Awards, longlisted for the Otherwise Award, and reprinted in various Year's Best compilations. Their debut novel is slated for publication in spring of 2024 from Knopf Books for Young Readers. José currently serves as Director-at-Large for SFWA.
