“I’ve just discovered this wonderful podcast from searching for a “business- related term.
This was a revelation. A business podcast host that is not full of himself and shouting “awesome” every three minutes.
Thank God for some humility and taste in the startup podcast space.
Rather than shouting at me how to follow a specific business model based on the host’s millions in successful revenue (aka the “look at the size of my...sales” humble brag fest), the host was engagingly humble, and is taking us along for the rise in a real fly-on-the-wall documentary style.
SO much more engaging than your average business podcast.
The host somehow persuaded his wife and a pretty major investor to allow what sounds like a pretty unstaged recordings of their actual conversations. (If they were staged I’m not complaining; it feels authentic and that’s what matters as a listener, at least to this listener).
Despite the host clearly having little to no business acumen, and it being from 2014, I’m absolutely sold on following this journey and immediately subscribed.
It probably helps that although clearly an amateur businessman (at least at the start of the journey in the first episode), he’s clearly a very fine podcast/radio producer. No surprise that he was a producer for “This American Life”.
This is how a business podcast should be done. A pleasure to listen to, a strangely gripping story and real business education. All at once.
Alex just so you know- I’d pay for content this good. The fact that it’s free is another bonus. (And no I’m not a friend of the host- he wouldn’t know me from Adam).
So impressed.”
