Still Loading #299: Riven w/ Try from My Life in Gaming
Listen now
Description
Following up a groundbreaking title such as Myst is a hard thing to do. Cyan had their work cut out for them, expectations were high. In 1997 they released Riven: The Sequel to Myst where it was met with much critical acclaim. Joining me to discuss how this game holds up now is Try from My Life in Gaming. Try is a huge fan of this game and I had a great time talking about it with him. We break down what we think works still, how the story holds up, the live action cutscenes and much more. At some point I will cover the other games in the Myst series, but for now I feel like this is a good place to leave off. End Song: The Moiety Age (Theology Psytrance Remix) Artist: Theology VGM Album: N/A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQFyUuvrZpU Get Still Loading Podcast merch! https://www.teepublic.com/user/still-loading-podcast Check out the Bit by Bit Foundation! https://www.bitbybitfoundation.org/ Support the Podcast! https://www.patreon.com/stillloadingpod
