In 1985, Norberto "Bucay" Manero, Jr. and his men murdered an Italian priest in Tulunan, Cotabato. They were all convicted and imprisoned, but because of Bucay's connections, he was able to escape prison several times until their sentences were eventually commuted and they were finally set free.
