Description
Marc Martin is an award-winning artist and picture book author and illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia. Having trained and worked as a graphic designer, his moonlighting as an illustrator eventually led him to a successful freelance career. Marc draws inspiration from his surroundings, nature, animals, and the city he lives in. His book A River was awarded a Best Illustrated Picture Book by the New York Times in 2017. The art in Marc's books fills both the eyes and minds of big and little readers. In this episode, Marc talked about his inspiration and creative process behind his two books A River and Max, how he published his debut picture book A Forest, how he went from a graphic designer to a picture book author, and how fatherhood has affected his picture book creation etc.
