Description
What makes an insect an insect? You might be surprised to learn that spiders are NOT insects. Kids learn that insects belong to a special group of animals called arthropods. Most insects have six jointed legs and three body parts. While a person’s skeleton is on the inside of the body, an insect’s skeleton is on the outside. Did you know that insects don’t have teeth? Instead, they have special mouths that help them to eat. Kids will learn about the fascinating praying mantis, about the exciting job on an entomologist, and why insects are so important to our world!
