I tried….
I tried listening to the first chapter and couldn’t stomach the constant commentating! It sounds like she’s explaining everything to children, rather than reading to adults. I enjoyed her voice while reading a few sentences at a time, but her constant interruption is just too much. When you’re listening to great literature, it’s annoying to constantly hear the host stop and insert her interpretation. I’m an adult and can figure out the meaning within the context. Not for me, sorry,

I love classic literature, but I have always had a hard time reading Elizabethan novels if I’ve already seen the movies. This is calm, but engaging and a great pace for me to listen along! I love her as the voice of Jane Eyre!
