Suspiria (1977) Episode
I have to say, I was extremely disappointed with this episode of this show. This is the first episode of the show I’ve listened to, and I don’t intend to listen again. As a huge argento fan, and “Suspiria” fan, I don’t expect everyone to feel the same. I don’t expect everyone to know the small details of this film, or worship it. I do; however, expect the hosts of the podcast to at least have a basic understanding of the plot of the film, the scenes from start to finish, and actually know what they’re discussing. Within the first few minutes of discussing “Suspiria” none of the hosts could even properly recall the opening scene, or the first few scenes that follow in the correct order. I was really bummed out, because it seemed like none of the hosts had even paid attention to the film. This being the case, it now makes me wonder if the hosts pay any attention to any films they review, and discuss. Maybe this singular episode was a fluke, and maybe I should give them another chance. As someone who gets to enjoy podcasts all day while I work, this one really disappointed me. I feel terrible writing this review, but I do think the hosts should know that this hugely turned me off from pursuing other episodes in their catalogue. Best of luck, gents.
