A Very Cynical Podcast From A Debunker’s Perspective
When I heard about this show through Aaron Mahnke’s excellent “Lore” podcast, I thought I would give it a shot. I’m very interested in all aspects of the paranormal, but I approach the subject matter with what I refer to as skeptical open mindedness. This podcast started out ok, but the host is very dry and boring. After the second episode, I wondered why he even took on the narrator role, since he sounds bored and annoyed by the content and subject matter. As the episodes were released over the next several weeks, the show quickly took a turn to the debunker/cynical approach towards the Betty and Barney Hill abduction. In the end, the host tries to explain their encounter away by claiming Betty had a bad dream and convinced Barney they were abducted by aliens. That explanation is about as hollow as the podcast is. There are so many great podcasts out there regarding the paranormal, but this is definitely not one of them. I’m shocked Aaron Mahnke would tie his name and brand to such an amateur production.
