Incredible
I just listened to the first two episodes and I’m blown away. María Hinojosa has this incredible ability not just to see the people that most of the world overlooks, but she does it without judgement and with complete openness- to the point that her own news team surely had conversations about whether she’s crossed important journalistic boundaries. She’s clearly not an impartial observer in this story, but I don’t think that’s the point. Her very involvement sparked the rejuvenation of a man that the criminal justice system had given up as a lost cause, and this story forces us to consider what is possible when we see the true humanity in people- especially those who we want to look away from.

One episode in and I’m hooked. It’s so honest. Maria Hinojosa had reeled me in with an honest, empathetic, and journalistic approach to the unjust system that led to many youth of color to be tried as adults.

If you ever did time, and probably even if you didn’t, this is emotional... I’m only one episode and I’m giving it 5 stars...
