“While dominated by magicians (my passion, as well as Mr. Sheppard's), the Successful PerformerCast also sprinkles in healthy doses of interviews with musicians, comedians and jugglers. The overarching theme of these hour-long discussions is how these primarily solo performance artists made the transition to become full-time performers, and the lessons learned from their failures and successes along the way that might benefit others looking to embark on similar journeys. I am an avid magic podcast listener, and find that Kris's interviews fit nicely between the strongly business-oriented (and aptly-named) Magician's Business Podcast and more historical, "stories-from-the-road", performance-based podcasts, such as Scott Wells' The Magic Word Podcast. It continues to fascinate me that magic, which is almost wholly a visual art, is so well-served by a large number of audio-only podcasts. With the Successful PerformerCast, Kris Sheppard has refined the focus and broadened the scope beyond just magic to provide a consistently enjoyable podcast that offers useful insights and life lessons of benefit any solo artist/performer.”
