Extraordinary guests/ host, not so much
An imbalance between guests and host. I felt Strayed was no less than rude to Margaret Atwood. As she says she’s calling on MA for her wisdom, she interjects too much of her own ( ego ) immature ‘ wisdom ‘ . Once telling MA , “ you’ re wrong” or “ I think you’re wrong” and another time, “ I disagree with you”! I cringed at the utter bad manners and lack of conversational skill. A different point of view is open to consideration. “ I disagree’ is more black and white, right and wrong. Margaret Atwood was wonderful and wise and was skillfully working with the imbalance. She was certainly well worth listening to.

Each episode has offered me a different source of inspiration, and shone light on emotions and thoughts I haven’t made time for in the past five years. Thank you for making this wonderful podcast at just the right moment.

Makes me wonder what new thoughts I would enjoy if Cheryl called me and hey, maybe I’d even introduce a new idea to her. Love this writer. Do you know Krista Tippet? Would be interesting to hear you two visit.
