Jakob McWinney is the Education Reporter for the Voice of San Diego, whose mission is “investigative journalism for a better San Diego” and was founded in 2005 as the country's first digital non-profit news organization to serve a local community. Jakob talks about his unique route to becoming a journalist and some of the topics he’s reported on such as chronic absenteeism, homelessness, and the impact the pandemic has had on academic achievement.
