Many times, when people think of spirits, they instantly think of Casper the Friendly Ghost or maybe the 1980’s hit Ghostbusters. Tons family stories are told of shadows in a particular part of the house or an orb that aunt Rhonda caught in a picture one time. This idea has started to change in the common consciousness with the combining of ghostly happenings with entertainment. Paranormal research groups featured on television strive for proof of the existence of an afterlife and unfortunately, sometimes, they also strive for ratings. So, looking for the spookiest occurrences they can catch on film whether it be disembodied whispers, audible footsteps, or any kind of reaction at all from reported specters serves the dual purpose. While some places that are said to offer a glimpse to the other side via contact with spirits, may be hit or miss when it comes to providing onlookers with “reliable” evidence, other places have made such a name for themselves that the mere mention of them  is all that is needed to conjure emotions. Our topic today tends to do just that. Idolizing the old time country singers like Hank Wiliams, George Jones, and Conway Twitty, Bobby Mackey carried his passion for country music most of his life. From singing songs in his backyard that he heard on the Grand Ole’ Opry to buying and opening his own honkytonk, he would unwittingly throw himself into another kind of spotlight...a paranormal one.
