“I have been a listener for years and enjoyed immensely. However, since the Omaha reboot much of the original appeal is gone. You need to develop segments for listeners to anticipate. On the old pod, there was family life talk to break up the content. My 10-year-old daughter could identify with the family life. I identified with the stories of fatherhood. Flag football, swimming, beach trips and more. You could look forward to One Thing I Hate. Just like Bad Beats and Winners on tv, these segments add variety and depth. Now, it’s just an hour of monotone football conversation with SS frequently talking over SVP. When the MLB playoffs started, including both SVP and Stanford Steve’s favorite teams. Yet, baseball was relegated to a handful of minutes at the end on the O’s (and nothing on the Mets).
I love football. But an hour of college and an hour of NFL monotone is largely a waste of 2 hours. Either they have overcommitted to 2 hours on top of their busy schedules or they have become lazy. The result comes across as unprepared and mailing it in.
Please shorten the pod and use invest that time in making it more interesting again.”
