“Howdy, folks! R. Matt here; I’m one of the player characters on this podcast!
If you’re here reading this review, and wondering if you might like this live-play, here’s a couple things that I think you can expect:
—The campaign’s story is awesome! The Abomination Vaults by Paizo is one of the most fun Pathfinder Adventure Paths I’ve personally played; the writing is great, and the dungeon designs are so smart. On top of the great adventure, all of us in the cast love to RP, and to spice things with character-driven conflicts and stories—all of which is in addition to the spectacular, cinematic, and incredibly tense combats that Pathfinder Second Edition does so well!
—Our DM is terrific! No joke, Lars knows the PF2E system like the back of his hand: he’s forgotten more about 2E than most of us will ever know.
Plus, he’s a hugely talented musician, and makes absolutely killer music for the podcast!
—The other cast members are flat-out terrific, too! Robin, David and Zoe are all coming from either 5E backgrounds, or never had played a tabletop RPG before—so on top of being crazy talented roleplayers and improvisers, they’ve all picked up and mastered this game’s rules on-the-fly! If you’re new to Pathfinder, or interested in learning what makes it special as a system, they really do an incredible job of introducing new players to what PF2E is all about.
—I’m okay! I love to do silly voices and accents (I grew up on a steady diet of Kids in the Hall and SNL reruns) and write insanely over-detailed backstories that I make poor Lars suffer reading through. More than anything else, though, I just love playing this game, and telling these characters’ stories with my friends, so I try to bring that enthusiasm into every session.
Well, if you’ve made it this far into this review, what else can I say other than I hope you’ll give us a try? Thanks so much for reading through, and from all of us here at TTG: we wish you all the very best, & we’d be delighted to have you join us on this (and many more) adventures!”
