One Toe
I enjoy this very accessible way of keeping one toe in the raging river of Daf Yomi. Liel is charming and articulate and some guests are great. I appreciate the challenge of trying to offer some meaningful Talmud learning in 10 minutes, but I find the episodes with a tenuous connection to the text or without a clear enough explanation of the textual springboard to be boring and occasionally pointless or forced. I hope Liel will find a way to hug a little closer to the Talmud’s own context and themes. Still it’s kept me listening everyday so far. :)

Perfect timing. I just started Daf Yomi, which takes much time to absorb, so a short podcast to reflect is so nice. Just listened to episode re Rav Yosi meeting Eliyahu in the ruins, and being advised to avoid the ruins, and just pray a shorter prayer on the road.

The new Daf Yomi cycle is starting and I’m using this podcast as a daily helper along with reading the Daf Yomi portion using the Sefaria app. Good starter commentary for those of us new to Talmud.

Thank you, Liel, for committing to this. This has been a great way to enrich my Daf Yomi journey. This podcast provides teaching, levity, and a sense of connection to the community.
