“I wasn’t looking for a “serious” D&D podcast when I ran across Tale of the Manticore. Personally, I’m a big fan of the comedic ones (when they are done well). In fact, I resisted listening for a long time after hearing the trailer. So imagine my surprise, upon finally giving it a shot, to find I was instantly hooked.
It could be said to be built from D&D clichés, surly dwarves, goblin fights, evil sorcerers, etc. But you know what? Bricks are cliché, too, and sometimes they get assembled into beautiful monuments. I declare this podcast an expertly crafted monument to Basic D&D.”
