All killer no filler
Tale of the Manticore is my go to D&D podcast. It is the perfect blend of old school D&D and grim dark literature. The DM is fantastic at the pacing of his story telling. The average runtime feels right (around a half hour) with the story progressing enough to be gratifying but always leaving you wanting more. I would be doing the show a great disservice if I didn’t also mention how well the characters are fleshed out. Each one has their own distinct personality and voice that has developed in a way that feels organic and not forced. But the thing I appreciate most is that TotM doesn’t contain the filler that turns me off to most other TTRPG podcasts. There hasn’t been a bad episode yet and I don’t anticipate that changing.

Incredible, such a dark but brilliant take on a Solo adventure that has me looking for next episode whenever I open my podcasts up. I want to tell my own story by being inspired by the adventure, clever use of mechanics and fantastic audio production. A fantastic listen.

I played D&D starting with the basic set, then moving on into AD&D, way back in my youth. The storytelling here mixed with the actual gameplay really brings back fond memories of those days of long ago. Thank you!

I just finished bingeing all 37 episodes to date and absolutely loved every second. The tense play-style, tight scripting and great characterizations made the world and the story come alive for me.
