A tale worth your time
I’ve been exploring Solo Roleplaying more recently and Tale of the Manticore is an excellent example of an engaging story with interesting characters that all have their own background motivation and reasons for existence. A lot of effort and care has gone into crafting a world that is dangerous and brutal for the intrepid characters that have been thrown together in it. The interludes with explanations of the key NPC’s and each PC really gives you an insight into their place in the story. Explanations of the world and other rule changes/additions give you a look under the hood at what makes the game tick. Tale of the Manticore really strives to capture the old school feel that early D&D had and with its own homebrew take on experience makes for a podcast worth your time.
