“Hey Jomboy and Jake! I’m a huge Yanks fan and have been following you and your podcast since the beginning of last season. I was reading through the usual post-loss angry comments thread on the Yankees Twitter final score tweet and came upon Jimmy’s recap. I’ve been looking at your posts everyday since. I wanted to take the time to write a review to thank you both for the time and effort you put into following this team. Creating a successful, informational, and entertaining podcast is very challenging—you can’t rely on images or video to tell the story. I give huge props to you, though, because you’ve absolutely exceeded the mark. By reading your tweets and listening to all the pods, I’ve learned so much about this team and the game. I find it difficult to get rational opinions from fans on what happens in the games (controversial plays, manager decisions, clubhouse news, etc.) but you draw sensible conclusions and your insight has really helped me form my own opinions. I like that both of you express how you feel and even when you don’t agree, you have intelligent discussions about the topic (most of the time anyway haha.) I’m a Communications student pursuing journalism with the dream of becoming a beat writer one day. Following you on your journey from fan tweeting to making Talkin’ Yanks go full-time is just so cool to me. It gives me inspiration that I’ll be able to build my own dream, too. I commend you for the effort you put into your platforms. You’re always incredibly prepared with stats and other information. The future is so big for Talkin’ Yanks and I accredit so much of my Yanks knowledge to you guys. Please keep doing what you’re doing. Hope to catch you at Tuesday’s game!”
