“thank you cam and pete! it’s so difficult to find anyone in the intellectual sphere who’s willing to tackle america’s preeminent podcast, haliey welch’s “talk tuah.” it takes two men of immense courage to tackle these difficult conversations: who is pookie, and is this a man we can trust? what would haliey’s life look like if paired with matt rife? these men are asking the real questions and by god, they’re the only goddamn heroes out trying to find an answer. when i’m not reading marcus aurelius’s “meditations” or machiavelli’s “the prince” as respite from more arduous intellectual pursuits, i’m able to settle down with a nice glass of pinot to listen to these distinguished gentlemen give their measured opinions on pop culture’s most controversial figure. one may ask, “what else can society, can CULTURE, derive from two more men with a podcast? aren’t the optics of two men satirically dissecting a woman’s every word not…the best thing for our culture?” and to that i say: your pedantry is holding you back. give yourself over to the didactic, do not overthink, and accept the gift the universe has delivered to you upon a silver platter. indulge, brethren, and rejoice! link arms with me, my brothers and sisters, and let’s rebuild this wretched country upon the strongest foundation we can muster: “talking talk tuah.” together, may we not only resist, but may we prosper.”
