Social justice: Is It Possible? What is it? Attempting to define it, the methods to achieve it, and to know what the finish line will look like, it became an exercise in frustration.  Equity, racial equity, social justice, and fairness….when listening to a leftist these are code words for socialism and Marxism.  So can we have social justice? What is it? Several organizations and institutions provide their own definitions for social justice. Here are a few: “Social justice may be broadly understood as the fair and compassionate distribution of the fruits of economic growth.”United Nations“Social justice is the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities. Social workers aim to open the doors of access and opportunity for everyone, particularly those in greatest need.”National Association of Social WorkersMay we turn to Lady Justice.  She is a famous statue and is a common symbol on courthouses in our country.  Lady Justice, a blindfolded woman carrying a sword and a set of scales, symbolizes fair and equal administration of the law, without corruption, favor, greed, or prejudice. The blindfold represents objectivity and impartiality, regardless of race, money, wealth, or power, that justice should be administered without fear or favor. She holds scales to represent the weighing of evidence, evidence weighed on its own merit, and able to stand alone to administer justice. The sword represents punishment, signifying that justice can be swift and final. She holds the sword below the scales to show that evidence weighted on its merit in a court of law come before punishment. The snake under her foot represents evil, and lies, and the book is the law, the constitution from which justice is administered.  This Book represents a set of standards laid out for all to see and know, and no one is exempt from it.  So justice is impartial, and should not be influenced by class, race, economic status, racial status, or anything else besides merit.  God is ultimately the one to be the judge over all people who have ever walked the earth, and He is the perfect, impartial, and just judge to administer justice. "For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of Lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe." Deut. 10:17 "He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD". Psalm 33:5 "Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it completely." Prov. 28:5 "For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him". Isaiah 30:18b "The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good". Prov. 15:3 And “He has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness” Acts 17:31 He is the only impartial judge, and the only one that can execute justice fairly. So no, social justice will never be accomplished, because this is putting one people group over another, and when that happens, it only creates more social injustice and unrest, division, hatred, jealousy and rage, which is what those who claim to fight for social justice are claiming to strive against.
