We are all addicts
We are all addicted to something. Maybe it’s our phones, sexual attention, money, shopping or success. Avoiding intimacy, vulnerability and uncertainty by filling our god-shaped hole, with whatever we can grab that is nearest to us, is endemic in the western world. Sometimes it seems there is a singular voice for addiction and recovery. Because the 12-step program was developed by a homogeneous group of straight, Christian white males, recovery language can feel unnecessarily narrow. These conventions offer a magical experience...the opportunity to hear a refreshingly new and unique voice speaking to universal conditions that lead to human suffering. With a profound understanding of the texts, teachings and wisdom that are rooted in thousands of years of study, Iggy opens our minds and our hearts. The conversations are brave, profound, and rich in their humanity. Good for humans of every persuasion...this is not to be missed!
