This is one of the most heart-breaking stories Teresa has covered throughout her career. It’s the story of Evelyn Rodríguez. Evelyn’s 16-year-old daughter, Kayla, was brutally murdered by members of the MS-13 Gang in Brentwood, Long Island along with her friend,  15-year-old Nisa Mickens. On Friday, September 14th, almost two years after Kayla’s murder, Evelyn was run over by a vehicle, while preparing a vigil for Kayla…near the site where her lifeless body was found.
