Listen now
Description
The elusive Golden State Killer is alleged to have committed more than 100 burglaries, 50 rapes and 12 murders, in at least 10 California counties, from 1974 through 1986. After searching for more than 40 years, authorities finally got their break. To quote Sacramento District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert, "We all knew that we were looking for a needle in a haystack. We found the needle in the haystack and it was right here in Sacramento." Teresa’s guests, Melody Gutierrez, Sacramento Bureau Chief from the San Francisco Chronicle and Forensics DNA Analyst Rachel Oefelein from DNA Labs International, will discuss how genetic evidence broke the case of the Golden State Killer, in part 1 of our 2 episode series.
