“I recently came out as atheist and started looking for a way to immerse myself in free-thinking conversations. Having recently moved to a new city for work (which I do a lot of), and without much here in the way of friends, co-workers, or free-time, I turned to the internet for a portable solution to my problem.
I subscribed to every Atheist podcast I could find on iTunes, and having heard the rest, Thank God I’m Atheist is by far and away my favorite. Dan and Frank break the mold in this podcast. Free from the droning, mouth-breather, grognard demeanor all too common among other atheist/skeptic podcasting hosts, the conversations here are light, happy, funny, and friendly; a real pleasure to listen to! Indeed, this is the only show of its kind whose episodes I can play through for an entire 12-hour work day or over-night microscope session without getting bored.
Frank and Dan avoid stereotypical over-confident, sometimes arrogant or (ironically) preachy attitudes, and keep their discussions well-rounded, rational, and balanced. They cover current events, politics, theist doctrines, and more. As an unexpected bonus, I have also learned things I never would have bothered to look up about faiths I am unfamiliar with (the LDS church in particular, but also others).
My timing was very fortunate, Dan and Frank had only published two episodes when I subscribed, so I very easily could have missed them! Thank you for producing such a great show!”
