#14: Will the four-day week ever work?
Listen now
Description
Losing a day from the working week without a reduction in pay seems almost too good to be true, which is why the four-day week has captured the public imagination. But is it all that simple? In this episode of That HR Podcast, People Management junior writer Lauren Brown meets experts from the CIPD and TUC to delve deeper into the pros and cons of the four-day week, the business case and the challenges it could pose. The team also travel to the CIPD's Festival of Work to meet mental health charity Mind and talk about wellbeing in a digital workplace; get up close and personal with some workplace canines; and hear from a self-proclaimed cyborg about blurring the boundary between being tech and human. Plus Tim Pointer is back to answer a listener query. Don't forget to give us your feedback by tweeting us at @peoplemgt or email [email protected]. Thank you to our guests from this episode: Alex Collinson, policy and campaigns support officer, TUC Jon Boys, labour market economist, CIPD Emma Mamo, head of workplace wellbeing, Mind Neil Harbisson, cyborg artist Tim Pointer, founder, Starboard Hosted on Acast.
