I had someone ask me this question: Why is marriage easier as a Christian? Listen, loneliness is a struggle for those in relationships or those who are single. When you know Jesus, you know that loneliness is a longing for a relationship that only God can satisfy. That loneliness feeling won’t go away when you’re married or when you move closer to family…That loneliness feeling is a reminder that God is the only relationship that can give you wholeness. We are all created for a relationship with our creator God. And Romans 3:23 tells us that sin separated us from God and our relationship with others. We will experience wholeness again in Heaven through Jesus Christ. If we don’t know that no human can fill us, we start placing unnecessary expectations on our spouses that no human was created to satisfy. That’s my answer to why marriage is easier as a Christian.
