Finally!
I have been hoping the Post would make this a podcast. I already subscribe to the written format on email. This podcast is now my favorite way to find out fast the top line news — and I’ve tried them all. The other podcasts that try to do this are either too long, too short,and/ or have jangly music that makes me instantly feel anxious and hurts my head, though I generally love many kinds of music (looking at you, NPR Up First). I just cannot. Though if I want a much deeper dive into recent events in podcast form, I do go to NPR Morning Edition. The Seven quickly lets you know whether the sky is falling or the Second Coming is here — and having ascertained that, the most significant developments of the day so you can carry on in peace until you have time to get a more detailed news download later. The stories are crisply and calmly reported— no slant apparent in how they’re told — which is especially important in such a distilled daily news dose. You might argue with what they choose for “the Seven” news items, but I think they generally hit the most important national and world events for American audiences to be aware of as we start each particular day. Well done and thanks!!
