Description
This week we go back in time with former Brisbane recruiter and current Sydney Swans List Strategy and Recruitment General Manager Kinnear Beatson.
Kinnear, a former physical education teacher, has been involved in the VFL/AFL industry since the late 1980's. He coached with the Carlton U19's, then working as the Western Jets Regional Manager in the TAC Cup before moving to Brisbane, to be a part of their AFL recruiting program in 1994. After 12 seasons and three premierships, his next move was to the Sydney Swans, where he remains today.
In this episode, Kinnear talks about his start in recruiting, the early years working at the Bears, the amalgamation with Fitzroy, the pressures of having the number one pick, building lists that win premierships, the changes in drafting to the current day and some of his favourite drafting moments.
A great listen with the sixty-ninth member of 'The 90's Club Footy Podcast'.
