We should all be a little Alarmist these days.
Stumbled upon this podcast back in 2020 when I was looking for anything to distract myself from reality and I found it at the perfect time. The show takes a modern look back at historical tragedies and decides (lightheartedly) who should take the blame. The show features the Alarmist herself, Rebecca Delgado Smith, along with producer Clayton Early (hello.) and fact-checker Chris Smith (hi!) and their light and humorous approach to some heavy and depressing topics is really the key to making it fun. I could see a concept like this being a tough listen if hosts didn’t approach it the may they do. My favorite piece is the aftermath episode where Rebecca interviews an expert on the specific tragedy and they are always educational. The gang will then reconvene and decide if they got it right the first time. Luckily they are never shy to admit when they were way off base and need to take a look back at their original decision. The topics and research are always interesting and the interaction with each other, the special guests and experts is what will keep bringing me back for more episodes. Consider joining their Patreon for extras and more in-depth conversations. Keep up the great work Alarmist team!

Overall good show, enjoy the death stats, especially when the episode isn’t about any deaths and pointing fingers to find someone to blame, it was John – I agree, kind of sad though. Overall great show, very funny, very enjoyable.
