“i saw a lot of comments in the reviews insulting Shawn for so many ridiculous, irrelevant, and petty things. for example, one was he has a “wet mouth” and another for “he was chewing”. wow, geez if you are human and you never make any mouth noises raise your hand. besides who doesn’t have something about them that annoys other people? does your personal inability to get past it need to be left as a bad review? i saw some other reviews from a few people who were infuriated that Shawn when explaining things that are fact and evidentiary-based and comparing those things to our modern day happenings in the presidency and with policies, that some people on the right when it leaned in the left’s favor were outraged, and conversely on the left when it leaned right were outraged. calling him biased and “to leave personal opinions in politics out of this”. i personally like the examples he gives because it makes the information more relatable and i am ok with something being in opposition to where i stand on a personal emotional level. it’s this crazy little thing called “open mindedness” which i think a lot of us especially today could really benefit from. imo Shawn explains things in as about an unbiased way as possible. i’m sure he already knows no matter what he says or how he does it when he’s drawing these comparisons to help connect dots in our own minds he will probably get crap. and if you’re outraged by any of that ask yourself why that is? why does that bother you so much that you can’t even stand to hear anything that leans in favor of opposition to where you stand? anyways, i say all of that to say this: Shawn, you’re doing a great job with your explanations and you are clear when you are speculating vs what we know from history. You explain scenarios in easily digestible ways and i have found this podcast not only informative but engaging. i would recommend anyone who is wanting a deeper dive into our American history to give this one a listen. ignore the haters, and keep up the great work!!”
