χαίρετε! This week we are celebrating our 50th episode with a slightly different approach. We usually avoid "meta issues" preferring to just get on with the hard work of reading and interpreting the texts themselves rather than talking about things like methodology and pronunciation, but we took the opportunity to reflect a little on the podcast and language itself.  Here is the short passage recited (Nicomachean Ethics 1.8.9-10/ 1099a): ὥσπερ δ᾽Ὀλθμπίασιν οὐκ οἱ κάλλιστοι καὶ ἰσχυρότατοι στεφανοῦνται ἀλλ᾽οἱ ἀγωνιζόμενοι (τούτων γάρ τινες νικῶσιν), οὕτω καὶ τῶν ἐν τῷ βίῳ καλῶν κἀγαθῶν οἱ πράττοντες ὀρθῶς ἐπήβολοι γίγνονται.
