Great production and acting make up for a predictable plot
If you know the Black Dahlia case, or are familiar with the crime fiction genre at all, there are few twists here. I knew who dun it by episode 1 or 2, and nothing swayed me from that conviction as the story progressed. But the acting, production, and characters almost make up for it, so I heartily recommend this anyway. And if you’re not familiar with the above case and tropes, definitely jump in and have a good time!! Then go read ‘The Black Dahlia’ and ‘LA Confidential’ to see how it’s REALLY done.

Otherwise Sherlock Holmes is a bunch of fictional Victorian true crime stories told by Dr. Watson.

I got less than 20 minutes into the first episode; by minute 17 I’d already heard four ads. Kind of breaks the magic of a story when you’re listening to that many promos.
