Description
In episode 11 Anna is joined by artists Victoria Cantons and Xu Yang and is also joined by curator and art historian Joséphine Bailey. Learn more about Victoria and Yang’s practise and how they respond and influence to each other’s work. The artists met at Wimbledon Art School while both studying their BA and soon became friends through sharing a studio together. Victoria is an incredibly creative individual having been an actor and musician before coming to art, which she feels is her best outlet. But is still very inspired from the other creative disciplines. Yang grew up in a small town in China in a very conservative up bringing, as a child she was drawn to fairy tales and unicorns as a form of escapism. Yang came to London to explore drag culture and was particularly drawn to the beauty and the way people can use make up to transform themselves. Check out Victoria on Instagram at @victoriacantons and Yang at @_xu.yang_ and a massive thank you to Joséphine Bailey for joining Anna on this episode!
