I love it!
I loved hearing the smart, calm conversation. I have the same question that Jan brought up - I would like to hear examples of what is being taught in a kindergarten class that the two women viewed as inappropriate. But I also understand the conversation could go on for hours and that’s not feasible here. I appreciate how you helped them feel comfortable and heard. This is the longest conversation I’ve heard that didn’t devolve into rolling around in the dirt, which was helpful for me because I’ve struggled to understand what the conservatives (for lack of a better word), really want. It sounded to me like what they actually are after is re-prioritizing what’s taught in classrooms. Rather than focusing on social issues, they are strictly interested in academics - reading, writing, arithmetic. It’s not the limited scope that I would want for my children, but at least I was able to have a better understanding of what their position is. I am so looking forward to the next episode. Good job!!!

I love this show. It’s small bites into topics that, if you so choose, you can look into further but if not, you feel satisfied in the amount of knowledge you gained.

But be careful when you ask a guest how they ‘feel’ about an issue when you’re really asking what they ‘think’ about an issue. These are two very different perspectives (feeling vs thinking) and it makes a difference.

Great topics but I can no longer take it!!! Audie never lets her guests complete a thought without interruption! She had a good run in my podcast family but I’ve had to cut her loose. Good luck!
