What could have been...
I came to this podcast fairly recently after an appearance by Julie on Radio 5 and have worked through nearly the entire back catalogue. It’s full of fascinating, often disturbing and occasionally humorous facts about the plans put in place by Britain (and others) for the aftermath of a nuclear attack which thankfully never came. As someone who grew up in the 80s with a mum who was an active CND member I was very aware of the threat of war. I remember being given a copy of When The Wind Blows book at a fairly young age! But I think these stories would resonate with anyone who lived through any part of the Cold War. Highly recommended!

A very deeply researched podcast on all aspects of nuclear war and civil defence of the Cold War period. Julie is a passionate and knowledgeable host who makes a heavy subject very engaging and humorous.
