Scripts need an editor
There’s not nearly enough insight here and why the host/writer insists on inserting herself into the story is puzzling as well as distracting. Shrewd listeners already expect that the author has knowledge of the subject without having to hear her declare it over and over — especially since she is not nearly as well-established a beauty authority as some of her (admittedly very good) sources. She also tends to lapse into some commentary that I think is meant to position her as an insider but just makes her seem unseasoned and kind of unprofessional. As with too many podcasts, an interesting subject was probably best assigned to someone with stronger journalism and writing skills, or shepherded by an producer/editor who could have taken up the slack. That’s what separates a terrific series from one that you listen to just to pass the time.
