“Honestly I loved his teachings and sermons… but the podcasts became very self-centered, often kicking off with monologues from his team just praising him, and then would follow with a bunch of chatter with no direction, little sustenance, and little filter. It just feels too relaxed for someone with so much responsibility. He seems like a wonderful and gifted person and I have looked up to him for many years, but i just don’t feel he’s shepherding anymore. Then I saw the video of him not feeling convicted about cursing and I was disheartened.
This isn’t for everyone, and I’ve become kind of selective of when in my day I listen. I’m pretty sure I heard Tim talking about tacos for 20 minutes… hah! Which is fine, but when I’m on podcasts I’m trying to be intentional, I want to learn and grow. Some of these conversations are incredibly powerful. I’m not discounting that. Some others however are kind of a roll of the dice. Sometimes you have to listen a whole hour in for the really powerful points. And as a Tim Ross fan, I am yearning for that from him!”
